Normally, I hear that it is impossible to make a film without money. Well, Jesus saves (2011) was made with an incredibly lowbudget of 500£ and was shot in 6 countries (UK, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, India, China). Facing innumerous difficulties,Jesus saves is an impactant piece of film, that received awards and was shown at festivals, art installations and screenings around the globe. The 500£ was spent on food and drinks for the crew. Additionally, parts of it was donated to a family we met near the studio we shot.‘JESUS SAVES’, a film by Fabiano de Souza Ramos with Arthur Yamaguch, Tomoya Yamaguchi, Andrew Bolton, Ana Paula Grange, Quentin King, Music by Conor Gorman & Stuart Crowhurst, Producer Eduardo Dominicci,Art Coordinator Yole Charman.

“Gesamt” is the title of a project that only Lars von Trier could come up. The director chose six pieces of artwork and asked people to submit a 5 min film or piece of music, interpreting one of the six works. The artworks they were meant to use as a reference where Paul Gauguin‘s “Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?”, Hitler architect Albert Speer’s “Zeppelinfield” at Nuremberg, a sonata by Belgian composer Cesar Franck, “Ulysses” by James Joyce, Swedish playwright August Strindberg’s “The Father” and the music of Sammy Davis. Jr! Fabiano Ramos got a call on an ordinary Wednesday. It was raining. It was people from Zentropa. His film was selected. A few days later, he was in beautiful Copenhagen.

By the way, if you familiar with the work of Lars von Trier, he keeps the dolly of GEISTER, a TV series that he made in 1997 for the Danish Television in front of his office in Copenhagen, which is fascinating and discretely terrifying.

In black and white, Iron Flowers (2009)  is a conceptual movie telling the story of an unnamed character, doing  unimportant work, in the middle of nowhere. Just one face among millions in the Metropolis. Proving that films are made for people and with people, Iron Flowers is a film made with nothing but passion. Shot in 2 days, it got invited to screenings in Bricklane Screening for All, Barbincan Centre and Swendenborg Institute, in UK. In Sao Paulo, it was screened in Satyrianas and Centro Cultural Sao Paulo, both in 2011.
